In the centre of the liveliest part of the Tignes ski resort, in Val Claret, the new Club Med Tignes Resort brings sparkle to the mountains.
Club Med has been present in Tignes since 1958 and has supported the development of this legendary station for over 60 years. With its investment of 128.9 million euros, the new Club Med Tignes is contributing significantly to the economic vitality of the region. Today, 300 to 400 people are employed directly, and almost as many indirectly, a result of the resort’s creation.

The architectural project
The resort integrates perfectly with its surroundings thanks to the work of architect Jean-Philippe Nuel. The building reflects the natural elements of the mountain, featuring larch panels close to the accommodation, overlooking a stone base. Modern elements in the design are provided by structures made from sleek aluminium and numerous windows. This fusion of tradition and modernity makes the new Club Med Tignes one of the most contemporary in the Alps.
“When you arrive somewhere such as this, you’re filled with excitement. It’s like the opening shot of a film: the village opens out onto a slope which is gleaming white in winter and [gloriously] green in summer – like an abstract painting. The colour, as well as the artworks, enhance the whole.” Jean-Philippe Nuel, architect
