Located in Spain’s Andalusia region, at the foot of the Sierra Blanca mountains, this new Club Med Resort extends over 14 hectares of colorful gardens and terraces. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this resort is an unparalleled oasis of unspoilt greenery and lush flora.
Spain has always held a special place in the heart of Club Med: it was in Majorca, in the Balearic Islands, that Gérard Blitz turned his vision into reality, creating the first Club Med village in 1950 at Alcudia. After more than twenty years, Club Med is back in Spain, with the takeover of an existing hotel, the emblematic Don Miguel, to transform it into a brand-new resort, modern, equipped and adapted to new times. The new resort is the result of a collaboration between Club Med and Magna Hotels and Resorts.
As part of Club Med’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, the Resort has created over 300 direct jobs, more than half of which have been filled locally, as well as 140 local indirect jobs.
Club Med Magna Marbella at a glance
The architectural project
The architecture and design of Club Med Magna Marbella reflect a tradition tinged with modernity. The indoor-outdoor design has been combined with a dynamic decor inspired by Marbella’s art, culture and nature.
Studio MHNA has designed the new Club Med Magna Marbella, bringing the soul of Andalusia and its cultural mix to every corner of the resort. Its eclectic, colorful style resonates with the history of this Spanish land of character. For this new collaboration with the Club Med group, the tandem of Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet express the originality and boldness of their colorful style on a grand scale. The richness of shapes, motifs and artistic references give this village a powerful aesthetic.
